Solymar Holidays are working with local businesses on Fuerteventura to try and get visitors to the island off their sunbeds, out of their holiday accommodation in Fuerteventura and into the local bars, shops and restaurants.

By producing a voucher booklet with various discounts, free offers etc, we hope to help local businesses attract some new and hopefully repeat custom.  And, of course, we hope to attract some more visitors to our holiday accommodation in Fuerteventura website.

New for 2008, the Dunas Park development has a selection of 3 bedroom townhouses and apartments for holiday rentals.  Prices start from 285 GBP per week.  These beautifully furnished and equipped properties are completely new to the holiday rental market in Corralejo.

Dunas Park is located in the Parque Natural area of Corralejo which is about a 15 minute walk from the town so ideal for anyone who wants to be within easy reach of everything that Corralejo has to offer but wants somewhere peaceful at the end of the day.

Our son, Adam, continues to amaze me with his flexibility and zest for life.  Since our move to the mainland, he has started at Lady Elizabeth School and is flourishing despite having a very limited education in Fuerteventura.  His school is an international one with a mixture of English, Spanish, German and many other nationalities.

Not only that but he is learning to play golf and has already won a junior tournament and is learning to ride (not bad for the boy that was scared of anything with more than 2 legs in the UK).

With so many different activities on offer and the wonderful weather in the Costa Blanca, the days of sitting in front of the Playstation all day are (almost) gone!

In moment of complete idiocy, Alan and I have decided to enter a 9 hole beginners golf tournament.  Have mastered (well … played a few times) the Par 3 course, something made us think that we were ready to play with the big boys.

The tournament takes place on Sunday 13th April 2008 at La Sella Golf Course in Denia, Costa Blanca.  Last week the course played host to the European Women’s Championship so to say that we are nervous is a vast understatement.  Think we should have stuck to crazy golf….

Oh well watch this space to see how we get on.
